General information
The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum with an international focus offered at over 2300 schools around the world. The program challenges the student to develop critical thinking skills, challenge assumptions, and support their arguments. Students typically earn college credit by successfully passing IB exams in their senior year. For additional information about the IB program at www.ibo.org.
Ib Program At CRHS
Once CRHS students complete their pre-IB or 'PB' years (typically in 9th and 10th grades) they can commit to the IB Diploma program or to take individual IB courses.
IB Diploma candidates are required to complete all of the following requirements:
(1) Study six subjects (3 at a higher level and 3 at a standard level) and appear for IB assessments and exams over the course of their studies (see details below),
(2) Complete an additional course known as Theory of Knowledge,
(3) Complete and document creativity, activity, and service (CAS) during their IB studies, and
(4) Complete a 4,000 word Extended Essay (EE).
At CRHS, students who do not wish to commit to the full IB Diploma program may take individual IB courses instead.

IB Diploma Program students must choose one subject from each of five groups (1 to 6), ensuring breadth of knowledge and understanding in languages, social science, experimental science, and arts. At CRHS students may choose from the following:

- Group 1 - English
- Group 2 - Spanish, French, German
- Group 3 – History, Philosophy, Global Politics
- Group 4 - Biology, Chemistry, Physics,Computer Science
- Group 5 - Mathematics
- Group 6 - Arts
